Okay, I'm still in the same guild and it's still awesome. We are finally large enough to clear the ten man dungeons regularly and I managed to get some pretty good loot from KT (Hammer of the Astral Plane and the T7 Headpiece). Things are sweet.
I have also, out of boredom I guess, rolled some Alliance toons on various servers to see what it was like since I've only played Horde. At this very moment I'm on a large RP server to be unnamed (but I'm sure you can guess what it is) and frankly I'm a little disturbed. I heard rumors that weird things happen in Goldshire a lot (I play a human Warlock so Elwynn is my starting area) but I was not prepared for what I experienced. I mean, the inn is filled with half a dozen naked human prostitutes and this creepy guy kept whispering to me and calling me "babe". Also, these two guys kept laughing at me for some reason and I have no idea what was funny. Was it my low level? Was it the fact that I'm a lock and locks aren't good at PvP (yet this is my first PvE server)? I'm really confused. I was also pretty amused by all the RP walking I saw since I rarely see it on my server even though it's RP-PvP.
There are nice people here, however, because this mage made free cloth gear and gave some to me. I secretly added her/him to my friends list because I can more easily do nice things for that person in return. I didn't have much money but I gave him/her what I had in appreciation.

So I finally had a shot at Magtheridon's Lair. I like how short the instance was because it doesn't take forever to get to the boss if you wipe. We had some really good people in this raid. Some were from our guild and the others were friends and a couple puggers.
We wiped the first two times on the boss. The first one happened because our hunter/cubeclicker experienced major lag and couldn't click in time. The second one was a bad pull on the summoners. I was surprised we downed him at all, actually, because when you pug something you never know what you're gonna get. I was really happy to be there, though my job was pretty easy compared to the clickers.
I didn't win anything but badges, but I'd totally go again.

I've decided to get into PvP after being really skittish about it for months. My brother, who has a knack for talking me into things in WoW that I ultimately enjoy, got me involved in Arena. Now, I don't really like Arena at the moment because I have absolutely no PvP gear or experience and we lose pretty much all the time, but it did instill in me a taste for more PvP.
Yesterday I decided to try Warsong Gulch for the first time and I had a blast! It was a lot easier than Arena because people weren't targeting me 99% of the time and I was able to get some kills before they slaughtered me (I'm still in PvE gear hehe). I tried to follow the strategy when I could, either helping with the flag cap or defending the flag from the enemy. Most of the time people followed the strat but during the times we lost we either didn't have enough people defending or there weren't enough on offense. Still, we won 3 out of the 5 games I played. I even made second place on damage and kills during two of those battles!
The one thing I found annoying, though, is that during two of those wins there was always one guy who got all pissy with us (calling us noobs) and quitting after the Alliance got the first cap. If he would have just stuck around he would have won with us! Why do people give up so easily?
I really can't wait to try the other Battlegrounds. Arathi Basin is next on my list.

So I went on another Kara run a few days ago. It wasn't a complete run because I was called in to help them finish it (they were up to Shade of Aran) but that still meant killing several bosses that I had never seen. My brother was the one who suggested me to the Kara pug, so that's how I got the invite.
I did really well, I think, though Shade of Aran made me nervous as hell. It was too difficult for me to strafe around the blizzard spell he casts so I decided to get right up to the boss to avoid it and that worked. I had no trouble avoiding the slow/arcane explosion he casts (Ikiss probably helped with that). I think I may have moved during the first wreath of fire, but then someone else moved the second time, lol. We killed him on the third.
Terestrian Illhoof was much more fun, though I came really close to going OOM. The macro they taught me to make to kill the demon chains worked like a charm and we downed him on the first try.
I had no idea what I was doing during the Chess event, so I just controlled pawns and tried to kill what was in front of me. Fortunately, the raid leaders knew what to do and we beat the event easily.
We skipped Netherspite and Nightbane because it got late, but we did manage to get to The Prince. During the first try we had some really bad luck with the infernals, so we wiped. The second try went perfectly.
I got a belt for my healing set out of it, but that wasn't why I went. I really liked the group I pugged with and they liked me so they put me on their friends list for future Kara pugs.
I did make one really dumb mistake, though. I tried shackling my assigned target and got a little too close and caused a wipe. I was really embarrassed and told the tanks I'd help them with repairs but they said not to worry about it.

So I went to Karazhan for the first time last Friday and I had a blast!
I didn't get much, just a bracer I'll probably use for PvP and a bunch of badges, but I learned a lot.
My group consisted of a very well geared warrior main tank, an extremely well geared holy paladin, and the rest of us. I'd say half of us had never set foot in Kara, so a lot of noob mistakes happened. Needless to say, we got to the Curator but by then a lot of people had to go to sleep and the raid had to end.
I never knew how chaotic raids could be. There are so many objects on the screen it's easy to get lost but eventually I got used to it. I made sure I was well-prepared and brought a ton of consumables to boost my spelldamage and keep my health up. I won't tell you how much I spent on elixirs of Major Shadow Power, ugh.
Attumen wasn't too hard, but a couple people didn't follow the main tank's instructions to get on the horse's ass when the bosses combined, and so it charged, killing our holy priest secondary healer. That was the only casualty of that battle, though, so I think we did alright.
Then I did something stupid and went the wrong way because I was nervous and ended up dying to mobs and taking the holy priest out with me as well because he thought I knew where I was going, lol. I was really embarrassed.
The affliction warlock kept dying from overuse of Seed of Corruption. It was funny.
My brother, the frost mage, was not paying attention to his sheeping a few times because he was preoccupied with scraping out bong resin. I think he irritated the tank a little, even though the tank himself appreciates my brother's hobby :)
Then we fought Moroes and that went well with no casualties, though I screwed up on my shackle target. Nobody told me that I could shackle on the platform without line of sight issues, so when my shackle broke unexpectedly my target ended up being too close to aoe melee attacks and I was unable to reshackle her. Fortunately, most of the other targets were dead so we were able to handle the add.
Our arms/fury warrior went the wrong way and died from a mob just like me, hehe.
Then a wipe happened because one of the succubi wandered into the next room and pulled it. It might have been because some of us were too close but I dunno.
Maiden went ok as well, but my brother ended up standing too far from the healers and they couldn't reach him. He and i think two others died from that damned Holy Fire DoT she puts on you. I felt bad about it because I probably could have been faster with the dispels. I was successful with it a couple times though, and the holy priest was helping. It's just that those low stamina cloth wearers die so quickly from it!
Then we did the Opera event, and unfortunatly it was the Wizard of Oz, the hardest one. We wiped twice on it because the warlock wasn't chain fearing Roar and it kept pwning the healers. The third time was the charm, though, because our third attempt was the best executed boss fight of the entire evening. Some bickering occurred between the ret pally and the bm hunter about an axe, though, but it didn't last long.
Then came the most depressing fight of the evening, Nightbane. We wiped three times on it before we decided to give up. We couldn't even get him past 75% health so the main tank concluded that we didn't have enough dps. Also, the melee dps really screwed up on the kill order of the skeletons and that made the tank mad because kill order is such a basic thing to learn. Also, people weren't getting out of the charred spots fast enough.
By the time we reached Curator, two people in the group had to leave. The main tank brought in one of his friends, but that just wasn't enough. We got too far behind on the beacons and wiped. I'd say it was us dpsers' fault because we weren't focus-firing on the beacons and it took too long to kill them as a result.
All in all, I think it went better than I thought it would. I made some dumb mistakes but I won't make them again. I've also been studying the boss fights to make sure I'm even more prepared the next time we run Kara. Even though we didn't get close to a full clear, I had a lot of fun and can't wait to do it again!

I always find it amusing when people complain about getting killed on the Isle of Quel Danas because I'm on a PvP server.
On my realm there's a Night Elf Rogue named Yizz who literally spends all day ganking people on the Isle. He usually does this by himself and picks targets that are at 20% health and fighting a mob, but sometimes he breaks these rules. No matter what time you are there to do the dailies, he's around. He probably gets killed more than he ganks, though, because there are always Horde itching to kill him.
He kills me all the time, as I'm a shadowpriest in PvE gear and easy meat. Once he got me four times in a row. I'm not really bothered by it, as I'm always able to finish my dailies within an hour at least. People get soooooooooooooo pissed at him, though, so it's amusing to see them rant in the chat channel. The funny thing is, these are probably the very people who spend all day ganking Alliance, as the biggest bullies often whine the most when the tables are turned.
Speaking of kills, I had a fun time doing dailies yesterday. This warrior and hunter from Dark Wolves (god I can't tell you how many times people from this guild ganked me as I was leveling) tried to kill a rogue who was questing, so me and this other rogue helped him kill them twice in a row. I do pretty good damage just as long as I have people to keep the enemies away from me, as I am very squishy.
Me and the rogue also tried to kill a paladin who attacked her. He ran from us with his bubble up but my dots and the mobs finished him off. He was so angry with us that he /spit at us every time he saw us there. Later, we saw him die from the demons so we laughed at him.
Seriously, dailies would be boring as hell if it weren't for world PvP.

So I did my first Shattered Halls run yesterday (boy that Fel Reaver was easy to kill) and cannot fucking believe this.... the Spellstrike Hood pattern dropped!!!! I probably made everyone deaf in voice chat with my shriek of joy, but jesus that's pretty lucky for me to get it on the first freaking run.
The run itself was also a lot of fun, as it was all guildies and we're patient with each other. The only boss we had trouble with was the ogre one, and that was because we didn't know the strategy to him. We read the guide on wowwiki and had no trouble defeating him on the second try. The final boss freaked me out a little because I came really close to going oom but we got him on the first try. It was a total blast.
After that, we did a Shadow Labyrinth run which was less fun because our rogue's isp went on the fritz and we had to bring in a warlock we didn't know. She was a good player and not really an asshole or anything, but she got kind of bossy with us because we wiped on one of the pulls in the refectory. See, our tank was so used to having a mage and a rogue for cc he got into what i call a "cc rut" because he couldn't conceive of other classes being able to perform the same job. We wiped on that pull because there were just too many mobs beating on him. Once he started using me to mind control a caster (the acolytes mainly) and the warlock to banish and seduce with her succubus we had no trouble. Still, that one mistake seemed to have made her decide to treat us like we didn't know what we were doing at all, and that made running with her somewhat irritating.
We did get a good chuckle at her expense, though, because when she ran back into the instance she got killed by one of those non-elite skeletons!
I will thank her for showing me another trick to Murmur's Touch. I didn't know that you could avoid fall damage by hiding in the hut when he touches you. I personally have never died from fall damage on Murmur, myself, but any amount of hp conserved is a good idea.

So I've spent the past two days doing a lot of farming because I need a ton of mats and enchants for the gear I want. I decided to try farming some of the enchants that drop in Blade's Edge Mountains, so I was off to do a lot of ogre killing. The +spelldamage enchant for the wrist was what I really wanted, but after reading about how difficult it is to farm I had little hope of obtaining it anytime soon.
To my amazement the damned thing dropped within an hour and a half of farming. I totally squealed with joy, especially because farming was annoying with this pesky druid who kept attacking me whenever I was fighting a mob.
I tried to farm the +spelldamage enchant for the weapon, but I didn't have any luck. It's supposed to be pretty easy to obtain, so I'm not going to give up on it.
I also farmed enough mats to craft a Bracers of Havok, a lucky drop that my brother found while questing.
Now that my spelldamage is boosted I could probably do a Kara run with just a little bit more stamina so that my hp is about 8k with raid buffs. My robe is almost finished and I found someone to trade shadowcloth for mats so I'll get it in a few days. I still could use the spellstrike set and the belt of blasting, but I don't think that's absolutely necessary for Kara, especially since it's going to take me awhile to get the mats for those.
The moonkin who attacked me earlier is apparently hated by a lot of people on my server. He goes on and on about how l33t his guild is on this other server (where his t6 shadowpriest is) and basically has pissed off several of the guilds on my server that he has tried to join. He even has his very own @ thread on the forums, hehe.
My brother went on a run yesterday with this warrior I can't stand. I can't wait to hear how that went. I wonder if he's still using obnoxious emotes with every action he performs.
We promoted our druid tank to an officer. I hope we made the right decision, though he hasn't been an ass in quite a long while. We really need a main tank, though, since our pally tank is hardly online and has terrible connection issues. Our warrior tank isn't on enough either, and he's in ZA gear so I doubt he'll stick around with us. He tells me that he was only acting badly that time because a lot of crappy stuff happened to him and he was drunk. As long as it doesn't happen again I'll let it go.
I probably shouldn't worry too much about it. Let's say the worst happens and he abuses his power and ninjas stuff from our bank. It's not really that big of a deal, anyway, since our bank isn't exactly packed with expensive gear and I will always have my brother and Charles no matter what happens. We can always reinstate people he kicks, too, so whatever problems he could cause can be fixed. I think he's more likely to just cause drama more than doing any of these other things, but I'm not going to tolerate someone who makes our guild a hostile environment.
